The Rock Churches
Text Messages From The Church
The Rock Churches uses Rockhub to keep in touch with its members. Part of that is text messages. This page explains exactly what we send, how a member agrees to receive it, and how to stop.
Who sends these messages
The Rock Churches (the name used by The Rock Community Church Inc), a church with congregations in Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and North America. Messages are sent from the church’s own number and are always identified as coming from The Rock Churches.
We never sell, rent or share phone numbers, and we never send messages on behalf of anybody else.
What we send, and how often
There are two kinds, and a member agrees to them separately. Church notices are service times, meeting reminders and important announcements. Invitations and news are invitations to church events and news about what the church is doing.
Usually a few messages a month. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
How a member agrees
Text messages are switched off for everybody by default. Nobody is texted because they exist in our records.
A person is asked when they create their account, on the second step of the sign-up form. This is that control, exactly as it appears there:

You can tick either, both, or neither. They are separate on purpose.
How often: usually a few messages a month.
Rates: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
Help and stopping: reply HELP for help, or STOP to cancel at any time. Stopping the messages does not affect your account.
Neither is required to have an account, and you can change your mind later. We never sell or share your number. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.
This is the actual control from the sign-up form, rendered from the same code, so it cannot fall out of step with what members see. Both boxes start unticked, here and there. Ticking them on this page records nothing. There is no account here to record it against. Consent is stored only when somebody creates their account at /claim.
Neither box is required. A member may tick either, both or neither and still have a full account — agreeing to be texted is not a condition of using Rockhub or of belonging to the church. We record the moment somebody agreed, and separately the moment they were asked, so that “never asked” and “asked and declined” are never confused with one another.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message and you will not receive another one. Reply HELP for help. Stopping the messages does not affect your account, your membership, or anything else about how the church treats you.
You can also change your mind in the app at any time, or write to us and we will do it for you.
More
Privacy Notice · Terms of Service · The sign-up form itself
The sign-up form asks for a phone number and the RockID of the leader who added you, because Rockhub is a private system for one church’s own members. That is why the consent control is reproduced on this page rather than only living there.
